Re: Cupcake stand

Well I admit it I'm a bad blogger. So many things I do never seem to make it
to my blog. I must admit my daughter and I had fun making this one. We
headed to the local thrift store and picked up the plates and candlestick
holders for a total of $4.00, some epoxy for $5.00 and that's it by the end of the day we had a beautiful stand for her party. It was nothing more than
a summer party for her getting though summer school with no complaints. I
mean the child rode her bike 4 miles a day to school and back. She is
awesome. Her Dad and I are so proud of her.

Wallow Fire

Well, I have been evacuated for 4 days now. We are living out of our trailer about 30 miles away from our town. We are better off than some as we do not have to stay in a shelter. I just love how some people stay that a lot of us left our homes because we are wimps. I'm guessing those are the people that don't have jobs and live off the government. Me? Well we still need to go to work and get a paycheck. Life goes on. Reports say we still have a house to go back to so far. My heart goes out to the families that homes were destroyed. It was so hard to decide what to grab. In the end I realized that as long as my family was safe and we had clothes everything else was just stuff.

Knock, Knock

No one reads my blog. Ok the first step is admitting it. Right? With so many blogs out there with helpful information, mine has to be overlooked, bypassed, and ignored. Maybe it is because there is not any useful info on it. So I am stuck making St.Petersburg stitch bracelets. I find the stitch soothing. With so many colors of beads the combinations are endless. The price isn't so bad for them either, I buy my beads from www.artbeads.com they seem to be the best priced and they are always emailing me coupons. Ok so I found this YouTube video on sock bun curls. Kid you not, my curls turned out perfect! I added a little bit on frizz control as my ends are fried from bleaching my hair blond. Never ever again.

Fresh Basil torn into pieces or dried (if you don't have fresh)
Salt to taste

SOCK MONKEY

Since I have to take a beading break every once in a while. I thought I would show you the bags I made for my 16 year old daughter on her Birthday and Christmas.  Thank God she loves the stuff I do.  Hopefully she is never to old to find the beauty in her mom's crafty work. I know some of my friends have a sock monkey fear, but I just love this bag! The other bag is clutch size and is made out of fake naugahyde and cotton.

Blah,Blah,Blah

Are you ever driving along alone and get the weird feeling that you are destined for greatness? Sometimes I feel like greatness is about to burst out of my skin and my destiny will come to light. Just me? Ok, maybe I watch a little to much TV. Life gets in the way of my beading (and my true greatness.) On the other hand dinner is finally cooking in the stove. What is for dinner you ask? Chicken breast covered in olive oil, sliced onions and mexican diced tomatoes. Now before you ask I have no idea what makes them Mexican tomatoes it just says it on the can. No recipe, just threw it together. Hope it's good. Ok hope its edible.

Ramblings of a Monster

Well another week has started. I'm not sure what's in the air right now but I am living with a bear (to put it politely.) I am finishing up my St. Petersberg bracelet and am posting the pic of the other one. I also started a cube necklace. This one might take a while to finish. Well, I thought spring was here my allergies said so and then it snowed. In April? Yep. Did I mention I hate the allergies. Thinking of trying the teaspoon of honey every morning. Any thoughts?

The Growth of a Monster

All I can say is look who found peyote. Peyote cuffs, diagonal peyote, peyote beads.

Why oh why do I go fast, burn out on stitch, find new stitch to do. Yep that's me, I go all out, 90 miles an hour then hit the brakes. With so many things you can do with beads I should be good for the next few years.

Ooooooohhhhh bead weaving, love the lacy look add some crystals. Love. Did I mention I just found St. Petersberg Double Stitch. Heaven..............On a side note I need to mention that right now I hate no bake cookies, after three batches two of them gooey one turned out like dirt, I am throwing in the towel. Give me a month on that one. I will overcome my pain.

The Creation of a Monster

Two years ago, some of us are a little slow at finding happiness, I found Beads.  We all have to start somewhere and I happened to start beading from a crochet project.
Old crochet thread: $0
Chain store beads: $1.99
Left over satin: $0
Hooked for life: Way, way, way beyond Priceless

The problem with my little Victorian purse? The strap, trying to find the right one introduced me to bead crochet.  Bead Crochet bracelets, necklaces and earrings.  Um, purse strap, still not created.  Right about here is where I really found beads. Delicas, Tohos, seed beads, lamp work beads, bi cone crystals, rondelle crystals, really it's all downhill from here.
